- Recovery of a rim manufacturer
Recovery of the world leader in rim and wheel set production for the bicycle industry with € 30 million in revenues that was facing bankruptcy due to an aggressive acquisition strategy financed with bank debt. VEP's value proposition was to stabilize the business and maintain the leading position while rationalizing the production facilities. VEP reduced the number of operating companies from 13 to 5, expanded the business in Asia and initiated a real estate redevelopment plan for the production site in the Netherlands combined with a relocation of the production. - Strategic repositioning of an outdoor furniture manufacturer
Recovery of a major player in the outdoor furniture segment with € 80 million of revenues, which was loss-making due to severe underutilization of a state-of-the-art production site in a declining product segment. The value creation strategy focusing on a change in business model from a traditional manufacturer into a developer and distributor of high added value outdoor furniture. The business model change incorporated a financial management and control program focused on reduction of working capital requirements, divestment of the entire production facility, establishment of a proprietary supply chain in Asia and accelerated product development. - Public-to-private of a water purification company
Investment in a Dutch industrial holding company leading in purification technology with € 250 million in revenues that had a poor share price performance due to a sub-optimal holding structure without exploiting potential synergies. VEP initiated from scratch a "Public to Private" transaction and subsequently led the execution of a business value creation and "Buy and Build" strategy. VEP developed a detailed de-listing scenario including arrangement of the equity and debt financing. Post transaction VEP was responsible for the restructuring and business planning, the disposal of a non-core division and add-on acquisitions for one of the remaining divisions. - Buy-and-build in European food industry
Realisation of a “Cut and Grow” value creation plan followed by a "Buy and Build" strategy in the European food industry with combined revenue of over € 400 million, encompassing a complex corporate carve-out. The objective was to create the market leader by integrating and rationalizing multiple businesses with the possibility of a European expansion strategy. The value creation strategy included a production infrastructure optimization (from 4 to 3 sites), outsourcing of nationwide distribution (100+ trucks, and distribution centers), significant overheads downsizing and value engineering with a focus on profitability.
